I took a digger last week. I’m still recovering. I hit my hip really hard and the bruising was pretty bad. I just got this jersey. It’s bright, the kids like it.

Don’t worry I was riding my bike in winter a couple years ago and came to a complete stop only to fall on my hip before I could unclip. Huge bruise for very non-exciting incident. You crash looked much more fun.

Clicked this thinking you were talking about the state, and I was all ready to be like “liar, Jersey is still a shithole!”.
But then I read your post and realized the gif was you. Gnarly wipeout.

I’ve only gone over the front of my bike a few times, and thankfully I’ve never been injured. Not sure how that is other than sheer luck.
Sounds like you didn’t hurt anything serious. Any gashes?

Looks like you were moving left with the front wheel turned right, which is why it did that when you landed.
Also, your right foot appears to have been off the pedal when the wheels landed. It bent in ways it’s not really supposed to.... How bad does it hurt?

My shoulder is a bit sore on the back side. The rest is doing fine. I didn't pop off, looked high, followed a rut and launched off lazy and crooked. The slow mo is a gem on the phone.

a few scrapes but we'll see in the morning it was a solid tuck n roll.

Same, the “jersey” part should not have been capitalized. “New jersey passes... ” is different than “New Jersey passes... ”.

When I was in college you could ride your bike across campus (uphill) then tuck into the woods and go on some pretty good downhill routes back to the bottom of campus, pop out of the woods, and have an easy ride back up.
I came close enough to your gif that I stopped doing that after about a month.

That looks almost exactly how I concussed myself on a dirt bike a few years back while riding at Tsali. Only difference is that the side of the trail was a steep talus slope, about 15 feet to the bottom . Broke my helmet and sunglasses (and popped a tire) , but thankfully not my actual skull. Rattled my brain enough to leave me vomiting while I shuffled back down the mountain.

It's part of the learning curve. I've hit this drop a few times and got lazy this last time and it'll teach me.

Is it just forced perspective or is the tree at the top of the drop absolutely massive?

Looks like a Friday Fails submission on Pinkbike to me. Though you (like many others) need to train your cameraperson to not cut away until you’ve come to a complete halt...
Glad to hear you aren't busted!

He says it's because I hit him with my bike and body so he was defending himself.
